WTC Artefact - the Military MuseumsThe WTC Artefact - Proposal for the Permanent InstallationThe process for orchestrating the World Trade Center (WTC) artefact installation involves collaboration between The Founders’ Gallery at TMM and project artist, Dick Averns. The Founders’ Gallery mandate includes programming contemporary art, and this project will be overseen by TMM’s Art Gallery Advisory Council, with final approval coming from TMM's governing Council. Mr. Averns’ aim is to enable viewers to observe the artefact from many angles, facilitating multiple points of view by encouraging audiences to navigate this powerful object. The artefact represents a significant date in world history and is a reminder to the honour of the innocent citizens from over 70 countries who perished on that tragic day. By extension, it reminds us of those who have and continue to perish as a result, and the engagement of our nation with others to protect innocent citizens at home and abroad, and the impact that this has had on the families of those who continue to serve and those who are no longer with us. Once incorporated into a public installation for audiences to engage with and reflect upon, the artefact will serve a cultural legacy for future generations. Donations to the WTC Artefact InstallationBefore commencing with the installation, a capital campaign will need to secure funds and/or in-kind support to offset design, engineering and fabrication services. This will include a feasibility study, comprehensive budgeting and a marketing plan. The overall process is expected to take 1-2 years Individuals or organizations interested in donating to this project may contact TMM Executive Director, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
